Turkish Food

Turkish cuisine is one of the richest and most diverse in the world, combining flavors and traditions from the Middle East, the Mediterranean, Central Asia, and the Balkans. Typical Dishes

İskender, adana durum (kebab), manti, durum doner, corba (lentil soups (mercimek), tomato soup (domates), yayla), sarma, sucuk ekmek (Turkish sausage roll), raki balik (raki is a typical Turkish spirit, similar to uzo, and there are special places to drink raki and eat fish with meze (a type of tapas)), mussels, kokorec (good kokorec is available at Kadikoy), Turkish rice.

*Durumce (in Besiktas): You can eat Adana durum, lahmacun, and many free tapas are served at the table, as well as sweets (kunefe).
Turkish Breakfast: In Besiktas, there’s a street of breakfast cafes called “Dimes Kahvalticílar Sokagi,” where you can find Turkish breakfast all day.
