Important Recommendations
Read Carefully
*Since Turkey is outside the European Union, you must travel with your passport.
*Europeans can travel using Identity Card Id valid for abroad (expiration date shall NOT be less than 6 months)
*You must exchange money in Turkey, not in Italy or from your country. Although credit cards are generally accepted everywhere, we recommend carrying cash as well.
*AIRPORT EXCHANGES: They are very expensive. Try to avoid or get only the money you need to reach the city. Last time the change offered was 40 tl per euro at airport, 50 in the city center.
*If your SIM card does not work in Turkey (Free does work in Turkey), we recommend purchasing an internet package before the trip. You can check your provider or buy a sim/esim card in Turkey (for families, one person can share internet with others). You can also buy SIM cards at airports.
*If you prefer to take a taxi, you can use apps like Uber or Bitaksi. Before getting into the taxi, agree on a fixed price with the driver. The Bitaksi app shows an estimated fare.
*You can download the Google Translate app to translate voice messages into Turkish.
*It can get windy or a little chilly at night, so you might want to bring something to wear to keep warm.
PLUS+
*One of the most frequent questions we receive is about weddings in Turkey and what kind of clothing is worn.
To be clear, weddings in Turkey are very similar to weddings in Italy or France. Enjoy your best suit and chic dress. 🙂
